The Flea

Thomas Bradshaw, author of last seasons controversial BURNING is back with his take on the Biblical character. Benjamin H. Kamine directs a company of Bats (The Flea’s resident acting company). Note: strong language, violence, and nudity.

Partial Comfort Productions @ Wild Project
(performances begin Sept. 18th)
Partial Comfort Productions celebrates its tenth anniversary with TEN, described as: “10 Plays. 10 Nights. 10 Actors. 10 Playwrights. 10 Directors. $10.” Playwrights include Thomas Bradshaw (see JOB above), Greg Keller, Sam Marks and PC’s own Chad Beckim.

WE ARE LIVE
The Live Source Collective @ Access Theater

Set in a fictional New York City broadcasting studio, WE ARE LIVE centers on the young characters of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, merging his text with Shakespeare's Hamlet, and featuring original music by the company.

Nosedive productions has been keeping the tradition of Grand Guignol alive in NYC. This year, just in time for Halloween they give us THE BLOOD BROTHERS PRESENT...RAW FEED which includes gay porn stars, game show contestants, Christian ventriloquists and most likely buckets of blood.

Sean Pomposello’s new variation on Sweeney Todd is directed by Christian Amato, described as an unauthorized parody of Sweeney Todd is if written by Jack Kerouac, Jim Thompson & Mario Puzo.

Classic Stage Company

Austin Pendleton helms a new production of Chekhov’s IVANOV at Classic Stage Company with a company that includes Ethan Hawke, Maxwell and Juliet Rylance. Given CSC track record with Chekhov productions lately, this is surely not to be missed.

VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE

Sigourney Weaver, David Hyde Pierce and Kristine Nielsen star in Christopher Durang’s new comedy which transports Chekhov's characters to present day Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Nicholas Martin directs.

The third installment of Richard Neilson’s look at the Apple family of Rhinebeck again takes place on the date of its official opening: November 6th, 2012, the day of the 2012 presidential election. These plays have become the highlight of the fall season each year, and given the importance of this installment expect no different this year. And tickets are only $15.

A CIVIL WAR CHRISTMAS

Paula Vogel’s A CIVIL WAR CHRISTMAS finally comes to NYC. Tina Landau directs this epic story of Christmas at wartime that mixes historical and fictional characters and period music and Christmas hymns.
